Great Oaks Ranch and Vineyard

Great Oaks Ranch and Vineyard We are very pleased to offer Great Oaks Ranch and Vineyard estate wines. The wines are truly a reflection of Great Oaks Ranch, and are extremely limited. The wines are handcrafted from vine to bottle, with each vine tended by hand by Buona Terra Farming and the wines carefully vinified by our winemaker, Andrew Murray at his nearby winery.

  Sauvignon Blanc,
A pale straw color with glints of spun gold first invites to the glass, where a swirl unleashes notes of white floral blossoms and hints of dried savanna grass, which then lead to the melon aromatics characteristic of this warmer end of the Santa Ynez Valley. A first sip mirrors the bouquet, with a mélange of honeydew and cantaloupe flavors layered with captivating reminders of lychee and marzipan. The texture is smooth and creamy, with elegant tannins interplaying with lively acidity and lingering fruit notes. A delightful wine on its own as an aperitif, this wine will pair with a variety of seafood and rich, cream based dishes. The wine will show best when served at cellar temperature of approximately 55º.
  Syrah,
Our Syrah bears the tell-tale aromas of Syrah that include black pepper, black cherry, and a smoky-oak-toastiness from the French Oak barrels. These aromas persist through into the palate, that has a finish that never ends. While this is a wine that can be enjoyed in its youth, it has the ability to age for at least a decade to come.
  Windmill Hill Cuvée,
This wine is a wonderful expression of the unique terroir of the Great Oaks Ranch and Vineyard. The wine is at once powerful and highly drinkable, boasting a flavor profile dominated by dark fruits (blackberry, blueberry, cassis) and toasty oak, with only a hint of the typical earthiness and spiciness associated with these varieties grown within the Santa Ynez Valley. This wine clearly demonstrates that with an ideal site, modern clones, steep hillsides, perfect management, and much love, that great Bordeaux Blends can come from the Great Oaks Ranch and Vineyard within the Santa Ynez Valley.
