Sparks Vineyard & Winery

Sparks Vineyard & Winery Our winery is located 5 miles east of Sparks Oklahoma where in the 1900s a French immigrant paved the way to a land of vineyards. Mr. Leon C. Fouquet, an entrepreneur and award-winning fruit grower, farmed a parcel of land northwest of Sparks and had 100 acres of fruit trees and 14 acres of grape vines planted by the 1910s. Mr. Fouquet named his homestead the Dreamland Fruit Farm to celebrate the fulfillment of his American dreams. His work not only embodies genuine pioneer spirit but also bestows a legendary chapter to the history of wine growing in Oklahoma. Today, after decades of silencing the vines, Oklahoma has rekindled its interest in wine grapes. Many new vineyards have sprung up in the Sparks area since we built our new custom-designed winery in 2000 and conducted our first crush. A boost for the growth of Oklahoma wine industry occurred in the fall of the same year with the passage of SQ688, allowing wineries to wholesale directly to state's liquor stores and restaurants. And 2003 is again a vintage legislative year for us thanks to the passage of HB1107, which permits sales of Oklahoma wines at trade shows and festivals. We hope that you are as excited about this as we are.

  American Cabernet Franc
Crisp with a hint of honey and citrus fruits is the first impression. Beneath it is a second layer of chocolate brownie with toasted oak. The off-dry woody finish adds a classical touch to this Bordeaux variety red wine. Pairs with Pizza, Lasagna, pasta with tomato-based sauce, grilled rib and Sloppy Joe. Serve at room temperature or slightly chilled.
  American Viognier
Imagine a corsage in a fruit basket lined with silk sachet. This wine gives you honeysuckle and papaya on the nose, melon and tangerine on the palate, and a velvety finish. A perfect cross between Chardonnay and Riesling, this wine will sure have you come back for more. Best serve chilled.
  American White Zinfandel
Our White Zin can outscore the Beringer and the Sutter Home. Delicately crisp and smooth, it is truly a crowd pleaser. Serve with Jack/mozzarella/cheddar cheese, crab, shrimp, chicken, turkey, baked ham, and pork. Excellent to pair with salad with ginger honey dressing, shrimp cocktail, curry chicken, and Cajun/blackened catfish. Best Served Chilled.
  Deep Fork Red
A sweet red wine made from American native red grapes. The color is a light crystal red and the flavor is deliciously grapy. Such a friendly wine to enjoy – We call it “Grownup’s Grape Juice”. Pair it with deserts such as raspberry mousse topped with dark chocolate shavings and garnished with fresh strawberries. Best served chilled.
  French Cabernet Sauvignon
This wine is inky ruby red with a complexity of flavors that come from the harmonious integration of concentrated black fruits, maple, and toasted oak. This wine has a soft tannin structure and gives a smooth, lingering finish. Pair with grilled meats, savory stews, and strong cheeses. Serve at 65 – 72 ºF.
  French Merlot
The color is a beautiful dark ruby with violet reflections. The mouth feel is soft and supple with layers of red fruits, wood and spices. This big red produces a long-lasting and mellow finish. Pair with grilled meats, smoked salmon, tuna and strong cheeses. Serve at 65 – 72 ºF.
  MerrLin
Had Merlin been King Arthur’s winemaker, he would have concocted complexity with honey, or is it the other way around? Well, we did it both ways and the result is magic – multiple layers of black cherry, tobacco, and a hint of mint. Enjoy this wine as a “petite port” – a glass in the evening to finish off the day. Served slightly chilled.
  My Sweetie
A sweet white wine that is fruity, fragrant, and exotic. The unique aroma makes an unforgettable and lasting impression. This wine will delight all your senses and add a sparkle to the party table. A must to offer to anyone who ventures into the world of culinary delight. Enjoy as a desert wine, serve with pecan pie and egg custard, and pair with savory and spicy food such as Szechuan, Thai, Cajun, and Tex-Mex. Best Served Chilled.
  Oklahoma Muscat Canelli
This is the latest creation of our winemaker I-Na Chao. With an incredibly fragrant and fruity nose, the wine entices you to taste in full anticipation. It lands on your palate with a twist of juicy ripe grape fruit, tangy and sweet at the same time. It evolves with full flavor and mellowness and ends with a smooth and very long finish. This wine will have you come back for more. Come visit our tasting room to swirl, sniff and taste - and take a bottle (you will want more though) home with you. Best serve chilled.
