C.R. Sandidge

C.R. Sandidge Ray Sandidge, our winemaker with over 20 years experience in Europe and the USA; leads a small dedicated cellar staff handcrafting our grapes into award-winning wines of Supreme Elegance. The wines express extraordinary fruit concentration and structure. Only the finest barrels of wine are ultimately selected for our C.R. Sandidge labeled wines. We begin with the highest quality grapes grown in Washington State. We intentionally have our contracted growers reduce crop size by 40%-60% of Washington State norms and water stress the vines. This, in turn, produces small, highly flavored, intensely aromatic and color-rich berries. All of our fruit is hand picked and sorted to insure only the riper primary cluster fruits are made into wine. You have our promise that attention is paid to each and every detail from "Berry to Bottle".

  2000 Minick Vineyard Syrah
Fabulous black hole, deep-dark purple color! The aromas and flavors are of fresh crushed blackberries, tree ripe plums, vanilla and smoked game. Rich in acids, this wine provides a luscious mouthful of Washington State’s greatest red varietals and a long satisfying finish to boot. It is a keeper, as it possesses a good 10-15 years of cellar potential. Should you not have the patience to wait another year or two to open a bottle, decant 6-12 hours prior to serving the wine in nice large stemware and I give you my solemn promise, the wine will not disappoint.
  2000 Tri*Umph
The color is dark-red with purple tones. The bouquet and flavors represent each varieties contribution. The Cabernet-Sauvignon provided ripe blackberry, black sweet cherry and nice structure. Profound ripe raspberry and voluptuous mid-palate was enhanced by the Malbec. The Merlot brought violets, black cherry and a very sensuous purple plum note. This wine possesses all we desired, namely, rich-bold red and black fruit flavors and aromas, consummate full-bodied structure and a great 8 to 12 years of cellar potential. Only 249 cases were produced.
  Boushey Vineyard Syrah
The harvest of 2001 was, without question, yet another in a string of phenomenal Washington State vintages. As Winemakers go, we in Washington State have been exceptionally blessed with uncommonly fine growing conditions the past four years. As anticipated, the Boushey vineyard produced a very sexy-luscious Syrah. The color is purple with dark red tones. The aromas and flavors are sweet spices, licorice, plum jam and black sweet cherries. The structure is quite fine. Though supple now, this wine possesses a good 7 - 10 years cellar potential.
  Klingele Vineyard Syrah
This vineyard designated treasure is quite rare as average production from this entire vineyard averages just 420 cases per year. The purple-black color is a prelude to the rich-ripe aromas and flavors of Italian plums and blackberries. Vanilla, anise and a touch of earth complete this wines generous presentation. It is full-bodied with fine-grained tannins and a long satisfying finish. To enjoy now, decant 4 to 8 hours prior to serving or cellar 7-12 years to allow this sensuous wine to fully develop in the bottle.

  Minick Vineyard Syrah
Dave Minick and his Syrah vineyard have, once again, produced fruit of excellent caliber. The site is located eleven miles north – northwest of the Yakima Valley appellation town of Prosser. The vineyard sits a 1,100 feet above sea level sloping south – southwest. The soils are a generous 3 – 4 feet of a sandy loam with a bit of fractured calcareous basalt located below the top soil. The Wine: An inviting purple – red color greets one as you pour our 2001 Minick Syrah into your wine glass. The aromas and flavors are of ripe purple plums, blackberries a touch of barrel toast-graham and slight clove and “smoky” notes. The structure is medium + to full bodied. The finish is long and satisfying. A great match with BBQ!
  Sangiovese Rose
A pretty apricot, delicate salmon pink color! The nose is a fabulous strawberry, watermelon and cranberry combination. The flavors echo that of the aroma, plus a touch of apricot. This wine shows some sweetness, yet finishes off-dry as a result of the firm acidity. Our rose’ is a fantastic match when paired with cold summer sandwiches, smoked seafood appetizers or smoked ham. 100% Kestrel Sangiovese
  Viognier
A delicious straw-light golden hue. The flavors bring to mind ripe peaches, pungent summer apples, zesty lemons, a touch of vanilla and barrel toast, plus notes of mango and nectarine. The body is medium to medium-plus. This wine’s structure lends itself to pairing beautifully with shellfish & poultry entrees served with light cream sauces. 100% Viognier
