Flying Goat Cellars

Flying Goat Cellars I've been making wine for over twenty years now, and have a particular passion for Pinot Noir. Pam hails from the Northwest and parlayed her experience in marketing and design at a multi-national athletics company and her love of the outdoors into a successful custom sportswear company. One of the reasons that Pam and I decided to settle in Santa Barbara County is because of its natural beauty, outdoor-oriented lifestyle and a fantastic "terroir" for Pinot Noir! I first came to Santa Barbara County as the winemaker at Foley Estate’s new facility in Santa Rita Hills, but have since ventured out on my own to concentrate on Flying Goat Cellars. When not marketing and promoting wine, Pam reduces world tension as a massage therapist at the Bacara Resort in Santa Barbara. This section of our website will explain a bit more about our thoughts behind the brand and the wines. After all, great wine doesn’t have to be snobbish or stuffy – it can and should be lively and fun.

Products

  Pinot Gris, Nielsen Vineyard
Heady aromatics lead to pear, lemon cream pie and key lime flavors on the palate, with a pleasantly crisp and refreshing finish.
  Pinot Noir Dierberg Vineyards
The wine has layers of flavors, a nice firm acidity and soft tannins – and that sunshine in a bottle that just says “Dierberg” to us.
Pinot Noir Rancho Santa Rosa Vineyards
Classic Pinot Noir aromas abound, with blueberry notes predominant, followed by caramel and a smokiness typical of Rancho Santa Rosa.
  Pinot Noir Rio Vista Vineyard
A blend of Dijon clones from the Rio Vista vineyard in the eastern end of Santa Rita Hills. Dark, ripe raspberries with notes of cola and peppery spice, lead to a mouthcoating finish with hints of cola and sweet tobacco.
  Pinot Noir, RioVista, Clone 2a
A small bottling that isolates the distinctiveness of clone 2A from Rio Vista Vineyard. Sour cherries, hard raspberry candy and a finish replete with rhubarb and allspice.
