Priam Vineyards

Priam Vineyards Priam Vineyards was founded in 1998 in the historic town of Colchester, CT by Gloria Priam and her husband Gary Crump, with plans to continue a family tradition that was started in Budapest, Hungary in the late 1800's by Andrew Priam, Gloria's grandfather. In 2002, Priam Vineyards became a licensed farm winery, and opened the winery in April of 2003. Priam Vineyards is open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and select holidays, 11am to 6 pm, March through December, for tastings and self guided tours of the vineyard.

From the North: Take I-91 south toward Hartford, to Rte 2 East, Exit 16 (Westchester/Rte 149), turn right going South on Rte 149. Approximately 1.5 miles on the right at the CT Wine Trail sign, turn right onto Shailor Hill Road. The winery entrance is the first left. From the West: Take I-84 toward Hartford, to Rte 2 East, then follow as above. From the South: Take I-95 North to 395 Exit 77, take Rte 85 North to Rte 2 West, Exit 16, then as above.

  Barrel Select Chardonnay
A dry, crisp and well balanced chardonnay, barrel aged 22 months, has the essence of banana, vanilla and mango. Delicious with seafood and chicken.
A very refreshing, crisp wine with flavors of green apple and grapefruit.
  Essence of St. Croix
Made in the style of Port. 100% Vineyard Reserve, aged 2 years in small oak barrels to achieve the smokey flavor in a port style wine. The rich cherry, chocolate overtones make this a delicious wine to sip with chocolate.
A lovely, spicy, crisp, full of fruit wine with a caraway essence.
  Late Harvest Riesling
Our dessert wine made from the botrytised Riesling grape, has a heavenly honey, melon and apricot finish. Wonderful "as" or "with" dessert.
A crisp, spicy wine with flavors of honey and citrus.
  Salmon River Red
Our Bordeaux blend, barrel aged. A rich, dry, full bodied wine, with jammy overtones. A perfect accompaniment to beef, lamb, venison, or roast pork.
  Salmon River White
Our semi-dry Chardonnay blend, barrel fermented for a smooth buttery texture, has flavors of butterscotch and apricot with a dry finish of green apple. Delicious with spicy foods.
  Westchester Red
Our red blend, barrel aged 24 months. Fruit forward with a smokey, peppery, black cherry finish.
