Beekman & Beekman

Beekman & Beekman Over 60 years of beekeeping experience has set the stage for the introduction of "estate bottled" gourmet honey and other products that are truly extraordinary! Beyond the consumer's expectation for the natural character of honey, Beekman & Beekman pure varietal honeys have been chosen for their unique flavor quality. The honeybees that produced the selections represented in the Beekman & Beekman line of honey and related products, enjoyed the luxury of the finest nectar foraging opportunities, sometimes flying 40,000 miles and visiting 2 million blossoms to bring in one pound of honey. Beekman & Beekman offers limited quantities of honey wine (mead). Come by our five generation old farm/apiary and future guest house on Geer Road in Hughson, California to taste the unique flavors of pure varietal honeys and the wine that premium honey can create. The Tasting Room's hours are February-December Saturdays 11-5, Sundays 1-5. For more information call (209) 667-5812.

  Blackberry Honey Wine
The barrel fermentation of this honey wine in French oak results in subtle vanilla undertones that match well with the floral components of the honey source. Sur lie aging adds complexity and improved mouthfeel. Although the alcohol content is high at 16.5%, one does not detect excessive heat.
  Orange Blossom Honey Wine
For over seventy years, Beekman Honeybees have produced California Orange Blossom Honey in California's famous "Orange Belt". To maintain its aromatic essence and varietal flavor, the orange blossom honey is removed from the beehives immediately after bloom. The honeycombs to be extracted are then selected specifically for winemaking. This wine has an intense orange blossom aroma with a citrus flavor profile. It has a long finsh and silky texture with a balanced acidity and residual sugar.
  Tupelo Honey Wine
Wonderfully complex. One detects hints of clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon derived solely from the honey source. Barrel fermentation in French oak results in subtle earthy undertones. Sur lie aging contributes a yeasty, nutty character and improved mouthfeel. Refreshingly balanced acidity and residual sugar.
