Hunter Hill Vineyard & Winery Only 15 minutes from Santa Cruz, Hunter Hill Vineyard & Winery is a family owned and operated 6 acre vineyard and winery specializing in fine red wines and port. Located above the village of Soquel in the Santa Cruz Mountains, the vineyards capitalize on the sunny days, moderate nights, and long cool growing season which bring this appellation due recognition for world class wine production. From the redwood bar in the tasting room you can sip your wine and enjoy a panoramic view of the Nicene Marks redwood forest and winery gardens. Take a picnic to the hilltop gazebo and enjoy a view of the Monterey Bay. The winegrowers, Vann and Christine Slatter, invite you to sample their award winning red wines and enjoy their hospitality on Saturdays and Sundays 11 A.M. to 4 P.M., private tastings by appointment.

  2002 Old Vine Zinfandel
Pronounced ripe aromas of berries and briar. A fleeting brinyness adds further complexity to the nose. Flavors lead with berries and cedar to a mouthfilling experience of ripe plum. This is what Old Vine Zinfandel is all about.
  Double Barrel
The first white wine to come from Hunter Hill is a classic blend of two white Rhone varieties, Roussanne and Viognier, this wine displays the qualitites of forward floral fruit and depth of flavor and texture. Bright expansive citrus, flowers and spice are presented by the Viogner. Roussanne adds honeysuckle and creaminess to the aromas and brings depth to the structure of the wine. Supple and full through to the finish this wine will make for a great spring or summer offering.
  Estate Merlot
A rich magenta color leads to ripe aromas of herbs, briar and smoky oak. Chocolate and hints of tobacco round out the nose. Lots of concentrated fruit gives this wine a mouth filling impression. This Merlot is a perfect representation of the long, cool growing season in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Designed for long term aging, this wine shows depth and integrity to cellar for 5-10 years.   Hunter's Blend
This red table wine is a fabulous blend of Carneros Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, and a 5% mix of Old Vine Zinfandel from Lodi. It is a light and fruity, slightly spicy and well balanced wine, with surprising zest and intrigue! A great start to the meal or served with salmon and lighter fare.   Old Vine Zinfandel
Deep garnet color lead to bright floral berry aromas. Spice and hints of anise are in the background. Berry and cherry flavors are followed by sweet cedar and oak impressions.
  Pinot Noir
Our award winning wine possesses a deep garnet color. Bright aromas of violets and fresh, new leather. The wine finishes with the strength of well-integrated and extended fruit and oak. Gold Medal, S.F. International Competition. Bronze, California State Fair
  Pinot Noir
This wine exhibits forward aromas of bright cherries and cedar with hints of exotic spices and pomegranates. Softly perfumed in an elegant style, the wine finishes with spice and lightly smoked oak. Silver Medal San Francisco Chronicle 2005
  Syrah
Smoky bacon and spice (cinnamon) with ripe red fruits. This wine is styled with flavor, soft ripe texture and an easy to enjoy approach. The lingering finish is rich and full. DOUBLE GOLD San Francisco Chronicle Competition 2005
  Syrah "Estate Reserve"
Hunter Hill’s first estate syrah release represents the best of the Santa Cruz Mountain Appelation. The deep floral bouquet leads to full rich spice and fruit and ends with a deep lingering finish.
