Harvest Moon Winery

Harvest Moon Winery Harvest Moon is a family-run boutique winery nestled in the Russian River Valley that focuses primarily on California’s own Zinfandel. The proprietors, Bob and Ginny Pitts, have grown grapes in Russian River Valley since 1977. In 2000, their son Randy assumed the farming responsibilities at the family ranch. In 2001, Randy made a barrel of homemade Zinfandel from the ranch that turned out extremely well. With that rich, fruit-driven homemade Zinfandel lingering on their palates, it quickly became apparent that they had something remarkable growing in their backyard. Armed with 12 acres of luscious fruit, they applied for and received a small production winery permit in early 2002. While the Estate Zinfandel is the centerpiece of the label, Randy also handcrafts a limited production Estate Gewurztraminer and Pinot Noir. From their initial amateur adventure, the farmers-turned-winemakers looked towards a promising future. With the 2002 Pitts Home Ranch Russian River Valley Zinfandel as the pride of their first commercial vintage, the proprietors intend on marking their unique ZinPrint on California's wine landscape. Harvest Moon Wines offer a sensory adventure with hypnotic aromas and lingering finishes in every bottle. With almost 30 years of wine country hospitality experience in tow, the Pitts Family is bringing a refreshing vision to the wine country with a simple yet exciting equation.

2002 Russian River Valley Pitts Home Ranch Zinfandel
Our first commercial vintage offers balanced fresh juicy raspberry with bright, lively acids. This fruit-forward wine is welcome at any table.
  2002 Russian River Valley Zinfandel
Grown on the Pitts Ranch and by our neighbors on Olivet Road, this wine delivers your taste buds to the crossroads of toasted caramel and raspberry tart.
  Dry Creek Cabernet Sauvignon
This classic rendition of Cab is true to its “roots”. Inside one finds herbs, chocolate, coffee, and a perfect balance between acids and tannins.
Russian River Valley Estate Gewürztraminer "Dry"
This bone-dry Gewürz offers a stroll through the flower garden, which is then completed with a subliminal amount of oak and a crisp finish. This wine is a real find for the Gewürz aficionado.
Russian River Valley Estate Gewürztraminer "Off-Dry"
Crafted in the traditional Gewürz style, this wine begins with tropical aromas followed a balanced ripe finish. Perfect for those hot summer evenings. It’s a wine you don’t need an excuse to open.

Russian River Valley Estate Late Harvest Zinfandel
Oh yeah baby… We are proud to offer our Late Harvest. This is a true dessert wine. The key with Late Harvest Zins is balance between residual sugar, flavor and alcohol. Basket of fresh raspberries and dark chocolate
Russian River Valley Pitts Home Ranch Zinfandel
This 100% Estate Zin is “pura amor”. This is a wine that comes out swinging with huge, intense candied-raspberry flavors yet refrains from exhibiting any “cooked” notes that often accompany very ripe grapes. Thanks to the morning fog here in the Russian River Valley, the fruit stays cool at night and thus retains its natural crisp acidity while still enjoying very mature flavor profiles.
  Russian River Valley Zinfandel
This wine is a local wine. It grew, fermented and aged all within a few miles of the Estate. On the approach, one will find dusty notes on deep, dark cherry aromatics with a sturdy body in the mouth with not-so-subtle notes of blueberry and caramel on the finish. This wine will taste its best from early 2006 and will continue for the next two decades.
  Sonoma County RandyZin
Introducing the big brother to the 2002 RandyZin. This 80% Zinfandel and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon blend offers herbaceous spice on the nose with dark perfumed fruit on the palette. Watch out, it’s a BIG wine!
