Located in the heart of Temecula Valley Wine Country, Palumbo Family Vineyards is committed to small lot, handcrafted wines from varieties that are grown on the property. Nicholas Palumbo, a passionate Viticulturist and budding Enologist, believes in producing only what he grows himself. The unique terroir of his 12-acre vineyard provides perfect conditions for Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese varietals. "Our wines get their depth and character from their small-scale production. Every step of the growing process is closely monitored. I know what goes into every grape, crush the wine myself, and pour my soul into every sip." Most of the estate grapes are over 10 years old, and are in high demand from local winemakers. In 1998, Nicholas Palumbo purchased 7 planted acres and a home nestled in the hills of Temecula Valley Wine Country. Soon after, he purchased an additional 5 acres, planting Cabernet Sauvignon grapes on the day his daughter Sophia was born. This 5-acre site is now known as Sophia's Vineyard. Specializing in reds, our estate-grown offerings include a lively, fruity, smoky Cabernet Franc, Tre Fratelli, a Bordeaux-style blend, Sangiovese and a late harvest merlot. Palumbo Family Vineyards is an unpretentious, boutique winery, with annual production of approximately 1500 cases. Already an excellent grower and winemaker, Nicholas is also a professional chef and loves to wine and dine. Small intimate gatherings and tastings at the winery are welcomed by appointment; winemaker dinners can be organized for 8 to 16 individuals.

Directions
From the I-15 freeway, take the Rancho California Road exit. Turn east off the exit. Follow Rancho California Road through the town of Temecula, about 6.5 miles. Turn right on Monte De Oro Road. Turn right on Barksdale Circle (paved road). Continue up the hill - Palumbo Family Vineyards and Winery is on your left at the top of the hill.

"Sophia's Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon
A big and bold Cabernet worthy of the vineyard designation. These vines were planted the same day our daughter Sophia was born and we couldn't be happier with the outcome of this first vintage. Enjoy now in its youth or lay it down in the cellar and be rewarded with a truly great Cabernet!

Reserve Merlot
A full 12 months in 100% new oak barrels gives this full bodied and deeply colored wine a structure and elegance rarely seen. This bottling of 100% estate grown and produced Merlot is truly a reserve wine worthy of years in the cellar!

Sangiovese
A new addition to the vineyards and tasting room, this bottling of Sangiovese blended with 15% Cabernet Sauvignon is our first "Super Tuscan" wine. Fruit as bright as the sun and as rich as the earth. Enjoy with grilled meat and pasta.

Tre Fratelli
Like the previous vintages this traditional style red wine is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Tre Fratelli, or "Three Brothers" in Italian, is the perfect combination of the unique character each grape brings to the blend. '02 was an exceptional year for reds and this is an exceptional wine from the vintage! A table wine with class and elegance.
