K Vintners

K Vintners Located at the base of the Blue Mountains in Walla Walla Washington, K Vintners opened its doors to the public on December 3rd, 2001. The property at 820 Mill Creek Road where the winery sits was homesteaded in 1853 with the adjacent farmhouse built in 1872. The winery grounds with Titus Creek flowing through the lawn and the old pioneer planted trees, is a little slice of heartland Americana. He loves to drink wine! Charles Smith, proprietor and winemaker, comes to Walla Walla after 11 years in Scandanavia. Originally from northern California, he has been involved with wine personally and professionally his whole life. And did we forget to mention... he loves to drink wine! K Vintners is producing wines from 2 distinctive viticultural zones: Wahluke Slope and Walla Walla Valley. Each of these areas are unique and awesome for Syrah and the Field Blends produced. In April '02 two seperate blocks of vineyards were planted to Syrah adjacent to the winery in the rocky dry creek beds that run through K Vintners property.

“HOUSE WINE - RED” Columbia Valley
Cocoa Powder & black currants is the aroma of this awesome wine. It is so smooth it gives velvet a run for its money! Cabernet Sauvignon 70%, Merlot 25%, Syrah 5%
“HOUSE WINE – WHITE” - Columbia Valley
Not to be outdone by “Red” HOUSE WINE. This white blend is Aromatic with a capital “A”. It is silky in the mouth with layers upon layers of fresh, ripe fruit and minerals. It is viscous and balanced with a finish that is just plain sexy. There it is—I said it, Sexy! Chardonnay 82%, Gerwurztraminer 8%, Riesling 6%, Pinot Gris 4%
2002 K Syrah “Motor City Kitty”
It’s Holiday Barrel Tasting Weekend. It’s named after my cat. It’s aged for 24 months in French Burgundy barrels. It’s totally awesome. And that is that! (43 cases)
2003 K “El Jefe” En Chamberlin Vineyard
(70% Tempranillo, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon) Intense is the first word that comes to mind. Very fleshy, rich, and mouth filling. Reminiscent of an autumn day in Spain. It lingers on the palate so long it could get busted for loitering. (120 cases)
2003 K “Ovide” En Cerise Vineyard
(67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Syrah) My father was honored to have a wine named for him. As I am to have him for my father. Great mineral presence, deep spice and pencil lead. Yes!, that's Ticonderoga #2 pencil lead. Long, smooth, complex and ponderous. But don't think too long as it will diappear fast. (220 cases)
2003 K “Roma” En Chamberlin Vineyard
(70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Syrah) Second vintage of this charmer. My Mom loved it. Deep, deep, deep. Lush, silky and very sexy. I think my Mom will like this description very much! (120 cases)
  2003 K Syrah "Cougar Hills"
Wow! Is the frequent exclamation when friends have tasted this wine. Warm summer earth. Meaty, packed with violets and undergrowth. This wine rocks! (320 cases).
2003 The Magnificent Wine Co “Merlot”
Coming from the En Cerise Vineyard. This is not “merlot”, this is MERLOT! Rich, earthy, deep and delicious. (195 cases)
2003 The Magnificent Wine Co “Syrah”
A serious syrah, juicy with a touch of gaminess. Definitely an over-achiever for its price!
2003 The Magnificent Wine Co 'House Wine'
(59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 9% Syrah, 1% Cabernet Franc) A fellow Walla Walla winemaker said to me, "No, you got to be kidding, this is a K wine it is so earthy and rich!" I concur and add smooth, super fragrant and long, long, long on the palate. I insist it is a steal and that you must call the cops! 6 bottle minimum
K “The Boy” Walla Walla Valley
Combine cranberries, massive doses of sun drenched earth and crushed rocks in Cuisinart, press obliterate, strain into glass, Lift, Drink, Savor! Grenache 68%, Syrah 18%, Mourvedre 14%
K “The Creator” - Walla Walla Valley
Aromas and flavors of earth, spice, minerals and pencil shavings is what you will find in this heavenly Walla Walla Valley blend of En Cerise vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Seven Hills vineyard Syrah. This miraculous wine will bring you to your knees singing Sweet Baby Jesus, Hallelujah! 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Syrah
K Syrah “Lucky No. 7” - Walla Walla Valley #7
Mineral, spice and intense. This Seven Hills vineyard syrah will kick your ass! Or something like that.

One sniff and you will want to crawl in the glass and splash around. Ripe, Rich and Fleshy. This wine Rocks!
