Buffalo Creek Vineyards and Winery

Buffalo Creek Vineyards and Winery Buffalo Creek Vineyards and Winery is solely owned by James Stephens, a retired Electrical Engineer with the Department of the Army. Jim started the Vineyards and Winery as a second career. Jim's goal is to produce wines that have clarity and excellent taste. Visitors are always welcome. Jim is happy to take visitors on a tour of the wine making activities and questions are encouraged. Seyval, Ruby Cabernet, Vignoles, Foch, and Concord vines are all grown in the nearby vineyards. The grapes are picked in the fall at the peak of ripeness and immediately crushed and or pressed then the must (juice and crushed grapes) is delivered to barrels in the production room for the fermentation process. The bottling and labeling are performed here as well. The Winery offers a selection of both red and white wines from dry to to sweet. In addition to our grape wines, we also produce Peach and Persimmon wine made from locally grown fruit. Buffalo Creek Winery sits atop a one hundred seventy foot bluff above the lake in a rustic, remodeled farm barn. Renovated with rough sawed lumber, the barn also features big picture windows in the tasting room and the second floor gallery. The atmosphere at Buffalo Creek Winery is relaxed and comfortable "on the hill". Two large lounging decks are available for your relaxation. One is covered and attached to the tasting room and the other is adjacent to the Winery building on the bluff. Both have ample lounging chairs, benches and tables, overlooking the lake, where visitors can sit back and relax.
