Dry Creek Vineyard

Dry Creek Vineyard Dry Creek Vineyard was the first new winery to be established in the Dry Creek Valley since the days of Prohibition. When David Stare arrived here in 1972, this grape-growing region of Sonoma County was a case study in neglect. Plainly, the Dry Creek Valley's glory days of winemaking were a thing of the past. Old-timers watched in amazement as newcomer David Stare ripped out the old familiar prune orchard across from the historic Dry Creek Valley store to plant grapevines. The city boy from Boston didn't seem to realize that, over the years, economic reality had already forced scores of wineries to close their doors. Only three producers—Pedroncelli, Frei Brothers, and Fredson–had managed to survive. Locals shook their heads in agreement: David Stare had to be just a little bit crazy to be out there planting grapevines.

The finish is silky and smooth with supple tannins that bring harmony and balance to this one-of-a-kind wine.
  Cabernet Sauvignon
At first swirl, this wine presents a dark ruby color accompanied by purple hues and a sense of texture in the glass. Aromas of black cherry and plum along with vanilla and black pepper come forward with additional time. On the palate, the flavors are complex and balanced with deep blackberry, coffee, and cedar along with more subtle notes of dark chocolate. This finish brings all of this together with supple tannins and a long, lingering aftertaste.
  Chardonnay Russian River Valley
The 2005 Russian River Chardonnay begins with abundant aromas of peach, apricot, pear, and toasted almonds. More complex aromas of spice and hazelnut are revealed after several minutes in the glass. On the palate, crisp acidity from our cool weather vineyards strike an excellent balance with subtle oak nuances. The finish is long and lingering with additional vanilla and cream elements that add even more finesse and elegance to this beautiful wine.
  Dry Chenin Blanc
Vibrant aromas of orange blossom, lemon zest, ripe pear and pineapple burst out of the glass. Flavors of green apple, candied citrus, lemon, lime and grapefruit dance across the palate as nearly all the citrus fruits are delivered in a single sip. Balanced acidity is the key to this wine. Served chilled, it’s excellent as both an aperitif or food wine, notably with oysters, summer salad, or Asian inspired cuisine.
  Endeavour Cabernet Sauvignon
Endeavour embodies the best that Dry Creek Vineyard has to offer in Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of black cherries, currants and dried raspberries mingle with nuances of clove, bramble and peat. Explosive extracts of dark chocolate and juicy berries shine within a matrix of dusty and full-bodied tannins. The balanced structure of the wine, completed by its well-integrated oak, promises excellent potential for extended bottle aging.

At first swirl, focused aromas of grass, Meyer lemon, grapefruit and jalapeños rise from the glass. On the palate, the wine displays a brilliant spicy character with plenty of palate cleansing citrus and herbaceous qualities. The finish is laser-like, with sharp, focused flavors. Precisely balanced, this Sauvignon Blanc will develop beautifully over the next 3 to 5 years.

This wine is seamless and well-integrated from beginning to end and should age and develop beautifully for several years to come.
  Merlot

On the palate, a broad and expansive tapestry of ?avors reveals black cherry, cassis, and dark chocolate, layered with chewy tannins. The ?nish remains textured and rich, but has a softer edge that expresses tremendous length and balance. For most folks, Merlot is “persona non-grata,” however, don’t overlook this gem – this truly is a Merlot for Cabernet lovers!
  Old Vines Zinfandel

The average age of these properties is more than 80 years old, which contribute a special flavor profile that is difficult to describe. At first swirl, the 2005 vintage displays a spicy, lush black fruit character that leaps from the glass. On the palate, classic briary and raspberry flavors appear with layers of white pepper and cardamom adding a spicy complexity. The finish displays additional spice with smoky vanilla from the French oak, leading to a long and satisfying aftertaste. Delicious to the very last drop!

At first swirl, this Chardonnay has a luscious, almost creamy aroma. The bouquet incorporates scents of creme bruleé, apple custard, pear, and vanilla cream. On the palate, the flavors expand with wonderful depth and richness. Flavors of baked apple and melon with a hint of brown sugar give the wine an added layer of complexity. Balance is a key to this Chardonnay, as the new French oak is not overwhelming but is well integrated. The finish is long and lingering with repeating flavors all adding up to immediately wanting to take another sip.
  Soleil Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc
This proprietary blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, two white noble Bordeaux varieties, displays a brilliant honeyed/golden color making it immediately appealing. Inviting aromas of vanilla, rose petal, honey and apricot leap from the glass and provide an exciting preview for the palate. Richly textured and delicate at the same time, this delicious wine displays a wonderful Asian spice character, which balances out the sweet apricot and vanilla. Serve this wine well chilled and enjoy it as an after-dinner complement, or with a fruit dessert such as peach pie and vanilla ice cream.
  Somers Ranch Zinfandel
Somers Ranch is an exceptional vineyard located in the eastern hills of the Dry Creek Valley. At first swirl, aromas of boysenberry, cherry, and pepper provide an exciting preview for the flavors that follow. On the palate, the fruit is succulent and rich, without being overpowering. The tannins are smooth and integrated and develop further with more time in the glass. This wine displays impeccable balance and structure for a young Zinfandel and should continue to develop for the next five years.
  Taylor's Vineyard Musqué
The Taylor's Vineyard Sauvignon Musqué displays a depth of character not often found in Sauvignon Blanc. Stone fruit aromas such as melon and Asian pears are evident along with a strong sense of minerality and texture. On the palate, these unique characteristics combine to fool one into thinking barrel fermentation is evident. However, 100% stain-less steel fermentation was used in making this wine. The finish has excellent balance and acidity making it a very food friendly wine.
