The seduction began over twenty years ago . . . a rare week for the two of us to spend time together unwinding and exploring . . . driving whenever, wherever, as far as our time would allow. This nomadic trek would lead us, as if by way of destiny, to California wine country. Our early morning walks in nearby vineyards seemed harmless enough. But the flirtation had begun. As the years passed, we found ourselves returning again and again to this idyllic place, yielding, in particular, to the alluring call of the Dry Creek Valley.
As the relationship grew into romance, we happened upon a rare piece of property—a broken down old ranch with just the right combination of rough, rocky soil and sunshine to produce magnificent red wines. Resistance was futile. It was love at first sight. And so, to the farewell serenade of ‘Green Acres’ by our city friends, Gerry traded in his board seat for a tractor seat and I exchanged Ann Taylor suits for overalls. We had found a land of promise . . . or it found us. And together we share its gifts with you.

Cabernet Sauvignon
A truly beautiful Cabernet, “delivering blackberry, cherry, chocolate, fragrant blueberries, sandalwood enticing ever onward through the great balanced structure and into the leather-tinted, layered berry finish”, this delightful wine rated a ‘92’ in The 2004 Great Cabernet Shootout, placing 8th in an impressive field of over 200 entries.

Estate Syrah
After luxuriating in French oak for 20 months this massive, inky Syrah has emerged with a compelling sensual and brooding personality (fitting for any redhead spending 20 months sleeping with the French!). Decidedly Rhone in style, it possesses deep notes of leather, aromatic tobacco and smoked meats overlaid with mocha and ripe black plum. A muscular mouthful, time will allow all of its marvelous components to integrate and those with patience will be richly rewarded.

All Boys’ is the happy outcome of the blending of Cabernet grown in the vineyards of our two sons, four grandsons and that of a beautiful neighboring vineyard owned by five brothers. Bright, bountiful berries and cherries, toasty oak, and supple tannins combine to create a delightfully accessible Cabernet. Here’s to these boys, and all boys, and the exuberant energies, deep soul and joyful experience of play they bring to every endeavor!
