Ilsley Vineyards

Nestled in the fertile hills of Napa Valley's Stags Leap District lie the Ilsley Vineyards. For three generations our family has provided grapes for some of Napa Valley's finest wines. Now after forty-six years of farming, we have hand-selected grapes from our hillside vineyards to produce our own Cabernet Sauvignon that we believe captures the essence of the Stags Leap District.

Ilsley Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2001 is a rich, almost opaque black beauty with a deep purple edge. Aromas of crushed berry and dark chocolate lead to a perfume of rose petal and exotic spice. Layers of black fruit follow with good saturation, a solid core of plum and a touch of sweet vanilla. The standout feature here has to be the velvety feel from start to finish! This is beautiful Cabernet, the expressive fruit, refined tannins and endless finish make it very rewarding to drink in its youth. Best now through 2010.

Ilsley Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon
The wine is a fine example of the Stags Leap District. Great color, loads of fine grain tannin packed into a balanced framework. The French Oak complements the fruit as an element of spice without being in any way overdone. One standout quality of the wine is the mouth-coating tannin on the evolution and finish with the added touch of sweetness, which arises from the marriage of grape and oak tannin. This is the kind of wine that we love to drink because it has the three elements we look for in high quality wine:
intensity, complexity and balance.

Ilsley Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2002 Cabernet has a beautiful bright ruby rim with a dark core. The wine features soft aromatics with baked berry, cocoa and rich black plum. The entry is smooth, lush and layered with black fruit and dark chocolate, while the finish is long and powerful. Wonderful now, with its lush fruit and youthful personality, it will evolve nicely in the bottle for years.
