Chrisman Mill Vineyards & Winery Chrisman Mill Vineyards grows a variety of grapes. Our predominant varieties include Vidal Blanc, Chambourcin, Seyval Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chancellor. Many of our wines are made from our estate grapes. But, Chrisman Mill Vineyards is proud to support local and regional grapes growers.

FROM LEXINGTON/NICHOLASVILLE RD: Nicholasville Rd./US 27 South towards Nicholasville (away from Lexington). Follow Hwy 27 South into downtown Nicholasville. Several miles down you will reach the heart of downtown. Turn left/East on Maple St. or Hwy 39. Approx. 1.5 miles later (after passing school) turn left onto Hwy 1541 (Chrisman Mill Rd.). Approx. 3 1/2 miles later you will cross a creek. The vineyard is the second driveway on the left. FROM LEXINGTON/TATES CREEK: Tates Creek Rd. until you have left Lexington and the road becomes Hwy 1974. Turn right on Hwy 1981, follow for approx. 5-7 minutes until it ends. Left on Hwy 169 for approx. 1/2 mile until Hwy 1981 appears on right. Turn right and follow approx. 5-7 minutes until ends on Hwy 1541. Turn left on 1541 and vineyard is approx. 1/4 mile on left (2 driveways past Nicholasville Water Treatment Plant sign).

  Cabernet Sauvignon
Our Kentucky Cabernet Sauvignon is our premium dry red wine. This wine is crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes grown exclusively in Central Kentucky. 3 TIME INTERNATIONAL SILVER MEDAL WINNER
The Chambourcin grape originates from the step hill side vineyards of France's Northern Rhone Valley. This grape produces a soft, medium bodied dry red wine with silky tannins. This wine has complex aromas and flavors of black cherries, tobacco, and spices. A great complement to any beef, pork or pasta dish. INTERNATIONAL SILVER MEDAL WINNER
  Country Arbor
This sweety fruity wine is made from the Niagara grape. It has a distinctive grape flavor.
Ensemble is our premium dry wine. This is our version of a Chardonnay but made with locally grown French American Grapes, Vidal Blanc and Seyval Blanc. The wine has a great mouth feel and richness which come from it's extended time aging in Kentucky oak barrels. INTERNATIONAL BRONZE MEDAL WINNER
  First Vineyard Reserve
First Vineyard Reserve is a full-bodied red wine, similar in style to a fine Chianti Classico, this wine is produced from a blend of Chambourcin, Norton and estate-grown Cabernet Franc grapes hand-selected on the crush pad each fall by our winemaker. The final blend is assembled and aged for 12-16 months in Kentucky-coopered American oak barrels.
A full-bodied red wine made from Norton, also known as Cynthiana and the only red grape native to America capable of producing world class red wines. Norton has a deep garnet color and flavors characterized by earthly elements accented with brown spice flavors of nutmeg, cinnamon and clove.
  Norton Reserve
A full-bodied, age-worthy red wine made from only the ripest of grapes hand- selected on the crush pad each fall by our winemaker to be fermented separately in small lots. The wine is then aged for 12-16 months in Nadalie French Oak. This wine has an inky purple color, massive fruit tannins, and higher alcohol than our regular Norton bottling. Produced in extremely limited quantities with the “big red” wine drinker in mind, this beauty exemplifies all that is possible with the Norton grape.

  Sweet Jessamine Rose
This sweet fruity wine is made from locally grown vidal blanc and chancellor grapes. This wine has a forwardly fruity nose with a distinct floral finish. 1 SILVER MEDAL AND 2 BRONZE MEDALS
  Vidal Blanc
This wine is made from the Vidal Blanc grape which is an excellent French-American Hybrid that is grown in Kentucky. The wine is an off-dry white wine. Vidal Blanc has a floral, fruity bouquet with refined Riesling-like flavors of ripe pears and just a hint of spice on the finish. The wine is a great complement to chicken, pork, pasta and is exceptionally well with spicy dishes like Chinese and barbeque. 12 TIME INTERNATIONAL SILVER MEDAL WINNER

Norton Wine Review: The Chrisman Mill Vineyards' Norton wine, produced from 10 year old on-site vines controlled in American oak barrels for 18 months, punched out to us with a lack of expected maturity. Being rather “mild” with no unusual character, we picked up only a couple bottles which will make for a comfortable informal conversational dinner table wine with friends. Chrisman is working on a Norton Reserve wine which was shared with us, but not ready for public release. High in sharp tannin tastes at this point, but with time maybe an interesting Norton to consider.
