Mario Perelli-Minetti Winery

Mario Perelli-Minetti Winery The Perelli-Minetti family name is over eight hundred years old. The family has been in the business of making fine wine since the early fifteen hundreds. Mario's father, Antonio Perelli-Minetti, first came to America in 1902. From 1902 until his death in 1976, Antonio was active in viticulture and winemaking throughout California and Mexico, and became one of California's top wine producers. Born at his father's winery in Somona County, Mario worked from boyhood at his family's vineyards and wineries. He became an attorney but later gave up a successful law practice to return to the family business of wine because, as he puts it, "It was in my blood." Today at the Mario Perelli-Minetti Winery, we produce only two wines: Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. We use 100% Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, all grown in the Napa Valley. With a total annual output of only 5000 cases, we are able to concentrate on producing the finest wines available at any price!

  Cabernet Sauvignon
This wine was produced 100% from Napa Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, 49% grown in the Pope Valley at an elevation of 800-1000 feet, and 51% grown in the Callistoga area in Northern Napa Valley. Aged 26 months in French and American Oak. This wine was made in the style of the French Bordeaux wines.
  Chardonnay
This is not a cocktail wine, it is not sweet. It is not heavily oaked. It is lean and crisp, produced 100% from Napa Chardonnay grapes grown in the Yountville area made in the style of the fine French White Burgundies. 30% of the grapes were barrel fermented and aged on the lees in French oak barrels.
  Mario Perelli-Minetti Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
This wine was produced 100% from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in Napa Valley's Soda Canyon at the elevation of 1500 ft. It was aged 30 months in New French Oak barrels.
  Miriam
This wine was produced 100% from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in Atlas Peak in southeastern Napa Valley at an elevation of 1500-1600 ft. These grapes mature 2-3 weeks later than the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown on the floor of the Napa Valley. The longer "hang time" and smaller yield produce richer, more intense wine with deeper color. The wine was aged 30 months in New French Oak barrels.
