Livingston-Moffet Wines

Livingston-Moffet Wines Lured by its small town character and lovely setting, we came to St. Helena in 1976 to raise a family of six children. Unlike many others who have arrived in the past 25 years, there was no forethought of our ever joining in the wine business. Little did we suspect that the decision to move to the Napa Valley was the first step in doing just that. And looking back we must have been clueless not to recognize the seeds of this life change all around us. First, our new address was in fact Cabernet Lane. Also, unbeknownst to us, the land we had purchased happened to be located on the Rutherford Bench – Napa’s prized Cabernet growing district. The property included five acres planted with old, dry-farmed Cabernet vines on St. George rootstock that had escaped the ravages of phylloxera. Framing our view of the valley from our 1868 farmhouse were the walls of an old stone winery built in 1883 by a previous owner from Germany, H.W. Helms. For a winery-minded person, this was a more or less picture perfect setting to begin winemaking.

"Great balance and mouth feel, with dark color and rich fruit. Elegant, with layers of currant, mocha and blackberry. Firms up in the mid palate and has a long silky finish with some tannins in the background. Drinks well now, but should age gracefully for the next 10 to 15 years."- Marco DiGiulio
Combines ripe, rich fruit with a sense of elegance and finesse. Lots of currant, cherry, chocolate, mocha and plumy fruit that is harmonious and persistent. SCORE: 92 – 94 Points Wine Spectator May 2001
The 2001 Genny's Vineyard Chardonnay has beautiful aromas of crème brulee, orange blossom, peach and apricot. The palate has nice peach and mineral notes, the texture is creamy with a bright finish of citrus / citrus blossom and refreshing acidity.
Dark straw color with rich aromas of melons, pear, honey and toasty oak. The palate is full bodied with lots of fruit, oak and acidity. Genny’s Vineyard displays great balance and depth.
"Dark red / purple color. An exotic aroma of almost tropical fruit (papaya), plum cola berry and spice. The wine is very rich with well rounded tannins and loads of ripe red fruit such as red currant, sour cherry and plum. Oak takes a back seat to the fruit that adds some subtle spice, especially on the finish, where a chocolate mocha note comes through. This wine will be at its best in 2 to 7 years." - Marco DiGiulio
Wonderful depth, richness, texture and complexity with tiers of leathery currant, earth, and sweet fruit. The finish if quite long and has a nice balance of tannins and oak
MOFFETT VINEYARD - ESTATE Cabernet Sauvignon
“Enticing scents of dried herbs, glove leather and black currant. Ultra smooth and rich with great concentration and copious flavors of red cherry-cassis fruit. Finishes with a wonderful flourish of red currant. Outstanding” June/July Wine News.
  RUTHERFORD - ESTATE Cabernet Sauvignon
"Deep red color with purple notes, aroma of ripe red plums, blueberry, chocolate covered cherries and spice. An explosion of fruit on the palate, very rich with more plum, blueberry and loads of spice. This wine finishes with bright red raspberry notes. There is a profound richness throughout the mouth that suggests 10 plus years of aging potential, although the fresh fruit says drink now. " Marco DiGiulio
