Flathead Lake Winery

Flathead Lake Winery Flathead Lake Winery is a small craft winery located on Flathead Lake in beautiful Northwest Montana. We are less than an hour from Glacier Park. We specialize in local wine made from local fruit. We were the sixth winery licensed in Montana and began operations in 2003. We hand craft our wine in small batches. These hand-crafted batches are often as small as 20 cases. We hand make, hand fill, hand cork, and hand label each and every bottle.

  Big Sky Country Currant Wine
This wine is made from a mixture of red and black currants that were grown organically near Kalispell, Montana at Sweet Grass Farms. Currants are extremely popular in Europe and are gaining popularity in the United States. They were once outlawed in the United States because they were thought to spread disease to white pine trees. Currants have amazing health benefits. They have more antioxidants than blueberries, three times the Vitamin C of oranges, the most iron and calcium of any berry, and significant amounts of Vitamin E, Vitamin B6, Potassium, and copper-soluble fiber. This is a medium dry wine with amazing currant and citrus flavors. This wine is most similar to a Rose' wine.
  Flathead Lake Cherry Wine
This wine is made from Lambert cherries grown in the family orchard on the south shore of Flathead Lake. This orchard has been in production for four generations and produces some of the best cherries on Flathead Lake. This is not a sweet wine. It is a medium dry wine with amazing fruitiness and a clean finish. This wine is most comparable to a merlot.
  Glacier Wild Huckleberry Wine
This is the only wine made of 100% wild huckleberries. There are those out there who try to flavor their grape wine with huckleberries. Don't be fooled. Get the real thing. While using 100% wild huckleberries is much more costly, we believe it is worth it and believe you will agree. We know you will be able to taste the difference. We use approximately 2 lbs ($12) of huckleberries in each bottle. This is a sweet wine that is best as an after-dinner drink. Serving it over ice cream is also a tasty alternative.
  ion Valley Apple Wine
s wine is made from Delicious and McIntosh apples grown in the family orchard on the north end of the Mission Valley. This orchard has been in production for four generations and produces some of the best fruit in the Mission Valley. This wine is a medium dry wine with a slightly tart flavor. It would be most similar to a Pinot Grigio.
  Montana Pioneer Pear Wine
This wine is made from Pears grown in the Mission Valley. This was a limited production run and only 20 cases were produced. The barn in the photo was built by our great grandparents and is known as the "Dupuis" or "Pablo" barn. This wine is a medium dry wine that is great chilled. It would be most similar to a Chardonnay.
