Stardust Cellars & Taproom

Stardust Cellars & Taproom Artisanal winery and meadery focused on sustainability and natural wines. Our wines are foot stomped and basket pressed in small craft batches using gravity and manual work by the winemaker in traditional fashion. We utilize methodé ancestrale and do not add clarification or filtration agents. We received the triple dogwood sustainability rating by NC GreenTravel for developing an in-house bottle recycling program, composting to create a zero-waste stream, not using irrigation or chemical sprays in the vineyards, and sanitizing with ozone and biodegradable cleansers. Locally grown Traminette is made into dry still or sweet sparkling white wine. Pinot Gris white wine and its subsequent on-skin fermented Piquette wine and a Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé are also available.

Products

  Catawba
Enjoy this refreshing and delicately fruity Catawba wine. It's just right for sipping while sitting on a porch or a picnic blanket, delighting in the fresh air, some good company, and an unobstructed view.
  Chambourcin
While its parentage is a mystery, the recent popularity of the Chambourcin grape is as clear as the sunny mountain valley sky. This adaptable French hybrid yields large clusters of deep red grapes in the cool mountain climate, and produces a medium-bodied wine with berry aromas and a rich purple color.
  Jailbird Blackberry
Spread your wings... and try something a little different tonight. This semi-sweet wine is made from sun-ripened blackberries growing wild on the Jones Farm in Andrews, NC. Try it with ham or pork roast and creamy desserts like cheesecake and chocolate mousse.
  Norton
Norton grapes from two vineyards in Cherokee County are detained at the Calaboose and bulked up into our biggest, fully-loaded gorilla of a wine.
  Seyval
The most rugged vine in the yard is the Seyval Blanc, a white grape tough enough to withstand the cold nights of the mountain valley. Seyval grapes yield a crisp white wine that pleases both wine drinkers who prefer dry wine and those who like a sweeter wine.
  Up the River Strawberry-Rhubarb
Sweet strawberries balanced with tart rhubarb are the flavors you'll enjoy with each sip of this distinctive semi-sweet wine.
