Amaranth Ridge

Amaranth Ridge We hope our wines never fade and contribute to your well being and 'immortality'. Amaranth Ridge is located in the Umpqua AVA, just 5.5 miles east of historic Oakland, Oregon at an elevation of 623 feet. Initial plantings were in the spring of 2004 and specialized in non-traditional red varietals from Northern Italy and Australia produced naturally. These include Barbara, Lagrein, Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Shiraz. Amaranth Ridge embraces natural resource management and energy production. We have developed initial implementations of solar and wind generation along with rainwater catchment for use at the vineyard, winery and support sites. In addition, we raise grass grazed registered Red Angus for bred improvement and those wishing to acquire meat which is raised without unnatural stresses or influences. These initial implementations will be expanded upon to be incorporated at our 6000* square foot gravity fed winery and tasting room that will be constructed in 2005. (*UPDATE !! Amaranth Ridge completes purchase of 'Turkey Hall' a 5000 square foot building which was built in 1932 in Oakland, OR. for off-site tasting and event hosting. )
