Deer Run Winery

Deer Run Winery We are George and Joan Kuyon. Deer Run Winery has been a long-time dream of mine. My wife, Joan, has supported my decision to build a winery and has taken charge of our retail shop. We founded our business in 2002 and opened our tasting room in November of 2003. George has been making wines since 1975 and plans to offer some new varietal wines as the vineyard matures. We are dedicated to producing quality wines at reasonable prices.

Directions
Deer Run Winery is located on the west side of Conesus Lake - just 10 minutes away from Geneseo or Livonia, 30 minutes from Rochester.

Products

  Cabernet Franc
A rich, full bodied aromatic red wine - not blended, fermented with toasted oat pellets to bring out more flavor and enhance the body of the wine.
  Cayuga White
Always a favorite, this is fruity wine is finished semi-sweet. This is a good choice with fruit desserts.
  Chambourcin
Another hybrid developed here in the Finger Lakes at Geneva, this was our best seller last year. A wonderful red wine, peppery and herbaceous, much like a Shiraz, with a beautiful deep red/purple color, unoaked with an intense bouquet.
  Corot Noir
A lighter bodied red with cherry and cedar aromas. Dark fruit flavors prevail with just a hint of mint on the palate. The finish is crisp and long lasting, with a touch of cranberries.
  Merlot
Merlot originally used in France for blending, has gained popularity over the past 15 years in the United States as a varietal wine. This one has a medium body, with a soft, smooth finish and an excellent bouquet.
  Runway Red
A wonderful red table wine, well-balanced and smooth. A blend of Chancellor, Merlot and a hybrid (73.136.17).
  Seyval
Another French American Hybrid, also used in our white blend, delicate with apple and citrus flavors. A great Finger Lakes wine.
  Traminette
A hybrid developed by Cornell University viticulturists in Geneva New York and released in 1996. It is a hybrid of Gewürztraminer, which is a German grape used primarily for a sweet or dessert wine. It has superior wine quality and the vines have a superb cold hardiness, making it ideal for growing in the Finger Lakes region. This wine is dry with a fruity nose and a smooth finish. Vintner's note: This one is remarkable.
  Vignoles
A French American hybrid, crisp and clean with a fruity nose and some citrus tones. Dry and smooth.
  Water Tower White
A delightful blend of Seyval and Vidal, both French American hybrids, slightly sweetened with nice fruity tones and a smooth finish.
