Mosaic Vineyards and Winery

Mosaic Vineyards and Winery Mosaic Vineyards & Winery became a reality for principals, Tom Fuchs and Bill McCardell just a couple of years ago, and already their impact is resonating in the premium wine community. After extensive research and exploring the entire west coast of the United States, it was here in the heart of the Alexander Valley in Sonoma County that they discovered the perfect place to launch their dream and create Mosaic Vineyards. Often referred to as “California’s Bordeaux”, the local landscape is a veritable Mosaic of soil types and microclimates growing some of the finest “Vitis Vinifera” in the world, and making this a winemaker’s dream location for producing world class wines. Tom Fuchs, with over 30 years of experience in the wine industry has brought his expertise to the winery marketing program and the structuring of operations, and has a winemaking team with more than 40 cumulative years of expertise in the cellar to create what are arguably some of the finest wines available today.

The winery is located at 2001 Highway 128 just southeast of Geyserville, 12 minutes north of Healdsburg, and about 70 miles north on highway 101 from San Francisco.

Brimming with youthful vibrance, the delicate aromatics of plum and damson are offset with light floral touches. Dark fruit flavors dance across the tongue with essence of black cherry, plum, and marionberry. A young tannic acid grabs the attention whilst hinting at an emerging jamminess that will show itself to the more patient among us that might save some for later.
  Mosaic "Sausal Vineyard" Sangiovese
  Mosaic “Francis Vineyard” Zinfandel
Bold & Beautiful, ripe and intense, this wine is the essence of Zinfandel. Big & rich with classic jammy character dominated by powerful fruit characteristics of wild cherry, framboise and damson jam with soft tannins that hold the flavors through a long and lingering finish.
  Mosaic Chardonnay
Brilliant gold color with the subtlest of green highlights, this wine has the pretty aromas of caramelized apple, citrus and asian pear. Bright and crisp on the palate with flavors of Granny Smith apple, soft citrus zest, and a whisp of vanilla. A well rounded mouthfeel is reined in by overtones of mineral spice giving the wine great balance and structure.
  Mosaic Merlot
Very classic in old world Merlot tradition with Bing cherry, plum and cola characteristics that are evident from the very first hint of aromatics to the very last drop on the palate. Elegantly embraced in a blanket of smooth velvety tannin, this wine has depth, structure and complexity that would knock many a Pinot sideways.
  Mosaic Red Meritage
Deep, dark, rich and intense, this wine is an homage to all that is great in the Bordeaux tradition. Intricate aromas of brambly berries, cedar, coffee and chocolate. A veritable cascade of flavors rushes over the palate seeking out each and every tastebud and gripping it with bold intensity. Ripe dark fruit essences are already evident, yet this wine is just starting to offer glimpses of the intricacies and complexities that lie ahead. Enjoy this wine now, and for many years to come.
  Mosaic Reserve Chardonnay
Lush and exotic with aromatics that breeze gently into the realm of Banana and crème brulee. Fat through the mid palate as the deliciously decadent tropical fruit flavors of pineapple, papaya, guava and banana are enhanced by a rich buttery texture and persistent creaminess through the finish that is big, bold and elegant.
  Mosaic Reserve Sauvignon Blanc
A blend of Alexander Valley Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon this wine bears the sophisticated overtones of tropical fruit introduced by delicate aromas of peach and star anise. Up front on the palate it is round and smooth with flavors of lemony peach, snapped back by elements of tangerine zest and a slight white pepper spice on the long and smooth finish. Definitely a more complex version of Sauvignon Blanc.
  Mosaic Sauvignon Blanc
Hints of citrus and honeydew melon on the aromas touched off with delicate floral notes. Solid citrus flavors echo on the palate with notes of lemon, starfruit and grapefruit with a subtle mineral quality that keeps the finish tight and dry. Mouthwateringly refreshing, and a must for those hot days of summer.
