4R Ranch Vineyards and Winery - Muenster
|
|
Where the shortgrass prairie drops into the Red River Valley, the 4R Ranch—with its magnificent vistas and rocky terrain—is perfectly suited for growing grapes. Patriarch W.C. Roper encouraged his family of sixth-generation Texans to share the beauty of this extraordinary place with others; and so it was love of this man and love of the land that inspired 4R Ranch Vineyards & Winery. Chinquapin oaks, white-tailed deer, the endangered black-capped vireo, and the occasional Rio Grande turkey inhabit this incredible property. Powered by sun, earth and wind, 4R Ranch Vineyards & Winery calls us all to slow our pace, enjoy the view, and sip a glass of wine in the magnificent Red River Valley.

El Guapo
Tempranillo Blueberries, juniper, chocolate and leather with rich fruit and supple tannins. This is our most talked-about wine, written up in Wine Spectator, Gourmet, Saveur and others. Serve it with a grilled steak and portabellas, a rack of lamb, beef tenderloin or game. Follow up with a rich dark choclate dessert and continue with the El Guapo for a perfect match.

Jacques Lapin
Chenin Blanc! With minerals and lime zest, pine and floral notes, very dry with nice acidity. Wes Marshall called this the best Chenin Blanc he’s ever tasted. From the Texas High Plains. Serve shellfish especially scallops or oysters. It’s also great as an aperitif with hors d’oerves and cheeses.
|
Primitivo
Made from Texas Hill Country fruit, this is a blend of Primitivo, the Italian Zinfandel, and Tinta Madeira, a port variety. It has great jammy Zinfandel flavors and a wonderful nose. Serve with beef or lamb or venison.

Rosato di Sangiovese
A real collaboration: this wine is made from grapes grown at four vineyards: Cherokee Creek Vineyards, San Saba County; Akashic Vineyards and Robert Clay Vineyards, Mason County; and some from our vineyard, Tio Pancho Ranch. It’s a wonderfully fruity lighter style Sangiovese, a clear red, not pink, and rich with cherry flavors. It has just a tinge of sweetness in the finish that zings up the fruitiness. This is your picnic wine! It’ll go with everything on the table and everyone at the table will love it!

Sangiovese
Our Italian style star: cherry, cola, vanilla, plums, good acid, looong finish. This wine is at or near its peak and showing complexity and character. Serve with pasta, salmon, quail, pork loin, cheeses and pate’. Also great with anything smoked and fantastic with mushrooms.

Viognier Texas High Plains
A stunning wine with Apricots, honeydew, figs and a full floral aroma. It’s rich, and fruity with luscious mouthfeel, a long finish and wonderful balance. This fruit came from the Texas High Plains. Serve with shellfish, lighter meats, swiss cheese.

Viognier Tio Pancho Ranch Vineyards
From our estate vineyard! This wine has our signature dried apricots, melons, honeysuckle and orange blossoms. The rich fruit lasts in the mouth and bursts with a clean finish. Great balance and harmony. Serve with oysters or shrimp, the salad course, or to wow your guests with hors d’oerves.
