Briar Valley Vineyards & Winery Briar Valley Vineyard & Winery is located in historic Bedford, Pennsylvania at the foot of the Allegheny Mountains. We are unique, in that we are the first winery in Bedford and the surrounding counties to produce all vinifera wines styled after classic European wines. We are dedicated to remaining a small boutique winery concentrating on premium quality and craftsmanship. At an elevation of 1,200 feet, our vineyard is located on a southeastern slope and possesses the terrior that is highly favorable to the growth of premium vinifera grapes. Thus far the vineyard is comprised of Chardonnay, Riesling, Gew├╝rztraminer, Cabernet Franc and Lemburger.

From the West: Take PA Turnpike Exit 146. Follow Business Rt. 220 South to Bedford. Turn left on Penn Street, cross highway at True Value. Tasting Room entrance straight ahead. From the North: Take I-99 to Turnpike exit and follow directions above to winery. From Breezewood: Follow Rt. 30(Lincoln Highway) to Bedford. Winery on right at east end of town.

  Cabernet Franc
Rich, dark ruby color with an aroma of chocolate covered cherries, leather, imported cigar. This wine has a long finish and will age well. Pairs well with red meats and hearty foods.
This Alsatian style Chardonnay is a blend of barrel-fermented Chardonnay in new French oak, and un-oaked Chardonnay fermented and aged in stainless steel. This wine has an exotic nose of rose petals, citrus and mineral notes. It has a lengthy finish and pairs well with appetizers, light cheese, fruit and seafood.
Aromatic, full of fruit, citrus and spice notes. Pairs well with spicy foods, rich cream sauces, mild cheese, poultry, grilled fish and pork.
A traditional red grape of Austria, it is an easy drinking wine with soft fruit flavors and hints of pepper. Lemburger pairs will with grilled meats, lamb, veal, pasta and chocolate.
Rich, supple wine with hint of leather, tobacco, mint, berry and earthy tones. This is a great wine that will age well. Pairs with veal, lamb, pasta and stews.
  Pinot Gris
Fruity with flavors of honey, apple, pear, vanilla and citrus with crisp acidity. Goes well with fish, seafood, chicken, pork, and Asian cuisine.
  Proprietor's Red
Supple, full-bodied red blend with good tannin structure and a lengthy finish, this wine has hints of black cherry, ripe berries and vanilla. Aged in oak for 6 months, it pairs will with grilled meats, pasta, aromatic cheeses and dark chocolate.
Crisp, light and delicate with hints of rose petal and fresh fruit. This wine is a light Alsatian style Riesling. A great party, reception and all around drinking wine. Goes well with seafood, fresh fruit, appetizers and Asian food.
