La Serenissima (the Most Serene), is a twenty acre Venetian Estate Winery sitting at 3500’ elevation in Warner Springs, North San Diego County. We are dedicated to the production of natural, handcrafted premium wines, 100% estate-grown.
Our grapes grow in granitic, rocky soil, and experience radiant but short sunny days coupled with cool nights. Our vineyard grows on a north facing slope to get respite from the summer heat at ripening. Sustainable agriculture and organic farming practices (no fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides and minimal watering) generate low grape yields but exceptional fruit quality. We follow traditional wine making practices from careful harvest to oak barrel fermentation to extended barrel aging in French, American, and Hungarian Oak.
Our wines are racked- not filtered to achieve greater body and depth. Bottling in phase with moon cycles, result in a unique tasting experience as bold character develops into subtle layers of elegant complexity.
