Colio Estate Wines A new era in the wine industry began in 1980 when Colio Estate Wines opened its doors. In what is now the VQA Lake Erie North Shore region, our founders duly noted the region’s soils, lengthy growing season and southern exposure to the lake. The ingredients for success in the wine business were all readily available but for the winemaker. And, in Carlo Negri, their shopping list was complete. Over the course of the next 25 years, and under Carlo’s guiding hand, the winery has won hundreds of international awards but, moreover it has earned the respect of its contemporaries. Today, at the winery, one can observe the new-world technique, old world tradition and profound, innate passion, that is critical to the vinting of award-winning table, sparkling, late harvest and Icewines. Throw in the ‘southern hospitality’ that the local folk extend and the trip to Canada’s most southern region is simply unforgettable wine.

From Toronto: 401W to Exit #14, right on ramp to lights for Walker Road (County Rd. 11), turn left and head south for 26km to Harrow. From Detroit/Windsor Bridge: Huron Church Line (becomes Hwy. #3) to Walker Road. Right on Walker Road and head south for 23km to Harrow. From Detroit/Windsor Tunnel: Left at Park St. to 1st light (Oullette Ave.). Left on Oullette and head south to Hwy. #3. Left on #3 to Walker Road. Right on Walker Road and head south for 23km to Harrow.

Match with Camembert or Friulano cheeses, rare game dishes with black currant based sauces or gravies, carpaccio or roasted pork with berry-based braise. Serve at cellar temperature (18° - 20° C.)

Full-bodied with good finesse, layers of cocoa and over-ripe raspberry, good tannic structure for aging ability. Match with strong, aged cheeses, peppercorn pâté, roasted pheasant, tomato-base pasta dishes, rare beef tenderloin or veal Osso Bucco.
