Archipel Wines

Archipel Wines French for ‘archipelago', Archipel is a single wine sourced from Mayacamas Mountain vineyards that rise above the valley fog like an archipelago island string rises above the sea. A Bordeaux varietal blend of hand-picked, hand-sorted Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc fruit, Archipel is also a blend of an Old and a New World winemaking vision. Our distinguished French winemaking team applies Old World wisdom and technique to New World mountain vineyards. The result is a skillfully crafted wine that unites structural complexity with a bold, approachable flavor profile. Introduced with the 1999 vintage, Archipel distinguishes itself through media acclaim uncommon for new wine estates.

  Archipel Wine
Sonoma County Mayacamas Mountain fruit prevails in the 2001 vintage. Dark berry aroma and flavor is more powerful than previous vintages. Archipel's vineyards have come into their own in 2001, expressing the most intense Bordeaux varietal fruit flavor and color to date. Cabernet Franc is again included in the blend, contributing to the wine's fundamental structure and impressive finish.
  Archipel Wine
Cabernet Franc is introduced into the Archipel blend with the 2000 vintage , providing additional character and structure to this contemporary Bordeaux blend. Unlike the 1999 vintage, both red and black fruit are present in the nose and on the palate. Mayacamas Mountain-grown Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc offer a hint of coffee and tobacco to complement the supple, juicy mouthfeel
  Archipel Wine
Archipel's inaugural wine, the 1999 vintage, defines Archipel's Mayacamas Mountain character and serves as the foundation for a future of exceptionally well-crafted and highly acclaimed wine. A slightly sweet, yet strikingly rich, nose is followed by dark fruit flavors, including blackberries and black cherries. The full-bodied palate is remarkably soft and subtle, rounded out by just a slight hint of smoke and vanilla.
  Archipel Wine
The 2002 vintage represents a blend of hand-picked, hand-sorted Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc fruit. Vibrant blackberry and black cherry fruit accompany a whisper of vanilla and a hint of smoke like that from an open fire. The lush, almost sensual mouthfeel is followed by a long, evolving finish.
