Nestled in the heart of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, North Mountain Vineyard & Winery has been a beloved part of the landscape since 1982. All of our grapes are estate grown, and every bottle of wine is crafted right here on the property. Our winemaker works with intention and artistry, shaping wines that highlight the distinctive character of our vineyard’s terroir, elegant, expressive, and uniquely our own.

From Washington, DC take I-66 West to I-81 South, go 10 miles to exit 291 (Toms Brook), west 1.5 mi. on Rt.651 to Mt. Olive, left on Rt.623 for 2 mi., left on Rt. 655 for 0.3 mi., turn right on Swartz Rd. Follow the signs to the winery 0.3 mi. on left.

Cabernet Sauvignon
Extended skin contact make this young, 100% Cabernet intense and flavorful. Well suited to red meats and strong cheeses. This wine is a keeper.

Caroline's Blush
A semi-sweet white wine tinted with Chambourcin for a delicate blush color. Fresh and spicy, with a cherry-berry after-taste. Excellent acid balance. Best when chilled, it can be used as either a porch wine or a desert wine.

Chambourcin
A full-bodied red wine made in the traditional manner, using the varietal grape Chambourcin. Round in the mouth, with a softness that evokes a Merlot. Marries best with lamb, beef, game, and all the heavier cheeses.

Chardonnay
A unique, refreshing, young Chardonnay, lime blossom nose with key lime on the palate. This chardonnay won't overpower your delicate recipes with oak. Embraced by food lovers as a favorite. Try it with scallops sautéed in garlic butter.

Claret
A dry, blended, red wine with subtle fruit flavors of blackberry, mingling with with well balanced tannins on the finish. Bronze medal winner.

Riesling
International silver medal winner, a crisp, blended white wine with hints of citrus. Excellent with freshwater fish, chicken, goat cheese.

Vidal Blanc
A fruity, fabulous picnic wine filled with crisp citrus flavors and a fresh flowery bouquet. Vidal Blanc is great with crab, baked fish, salads or other light dishes.

Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay
A young Chardonnay, flavored of fresh-cut fruits and roasted hazelnuts. Time well spent in oak barrels gives this wine a greater structure, making it full-bodied, and thus more appropriate with richer foods.

Virginia Claret
A semi-dry, smooth, light-bodied red wine in the English Style with fruity nose, a touch of residual sugar and a crisp finish. A blend of full bodied reds with late harvest Vidal that pleases like no other.
