Greetings and welcome! We are Cindy and James Reynolds, the owners of Eagle Zen Winery and Faded Glory Vineyards.
James, a retired Army Colonel with multiple global deployments, found his passion for grapevines while conducting Stability Operations in Afghanistan after visiting several vineyards there. In 2008, James and Cindy purchased the property as a weekend retreat from their demanding traveling schedules. Cindy retired after 32 years of federal service, as a Military Wargame Planner, and cautiously joined in the dream.

We painstakingly built our trellis system and planted our first vines in 2015, starting with Chambourcin and Traminette. The following year, we expanded to include Mencia, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Riesling. Over time, our vineyard grew to encompass Vidal Blanc, Norton, Petit Manseng, Petit Verdot, Rkatsiteli, Saperavi, and Cabernet Franc. For many years, we sold our grapes to nearby wineries, as Faded Glory Vineyards. Our vineyard and winery span approximately 54 acres, with 6.5 acres dedicated to vines.

?In 2022, we decided to venture into winemaking with guidance from Matt and Mary Beth Barbagallo, owners of Above Ground Winery. James is learning the intricacies of winemaking under Matt’s excellent mentorship, aiming to master the craft himself. Cindy is learning the many business aspects of the wine industry under the guidance of Mary Beth.
