Nova Scotia’s newest winery, L’Acadie Vineyards, opened on May 9,2008. Also the province’s first organic winery, L'Acadie Vineyards is focused on producing world-class traditional method sparkling wines. In addition to sparkling wines, the winery offers other styles of wine, most notably the 2007 L’Acadie Star, a still wine recently awarded a double gold medal and best of category award at the 2008 All Canadian Wine Championships. L’Acadie Vineyards is a certified organic vineyard and winery built with environmentally-friendly geothermal heating and cooling and offers fully appointed vineyard-side cottages .
