Upon graduation from The Ohio State Univeristy's College of Agriculture, Seth returned to his roots in Brown Couny where he continued the tradition of tobacco and grain crops. Further research about the soil and the land's history lead them to plant vineyards in 2003. Seth's wife, Tina, grew up on the Nixon family farm in Warren County, graduated from Cincinnati State, and became active in the Brown County farm in 1998. They have two sons.

Meranda Vineyards lies just seven miles north of the Ohio River on a glaciated plateau at the top of a watershed with excellent air drainage to Straight Creek and Red Oak Creek.
