The Tenth Annual Bacchus Festival will be held May 17, 2008. The Bacchus Festival is an outdoor celebration observing the return of the growing season and honoring the grape growers of Morgan Creek wines.
This festival starts the winery season of events with the release of their spring wine, Bacchanal. Performing on the winery grounds 1:00 - 4:00 pm is Gordon Aase and Friends. An eclectic laid back variety of tunes to enjoy with European style hospitality wood fired oven baked artisan flatbreads, classic Neopolitan gourmet pizzette; and Swiss raclette, with Minnesota hand crafted fine wine available by the bottle or by the glass..
The Bacchus Festival is free and open to the public.
Winery Hours: 11-9pm
Tastings priced by flights $1.00 - $3.00.
Tours: 1-4 pm on the hour $3.00

ith spring in the air, there’s no better venue for an outing than Ash Lawn-Highland’s 14th annual WineFest on May 17 and 18 at the home of President James Monroe. There will be wines from some of Virginia'a notable wineries and music performed live by Beleza Brasil from Charlottesville. United by musical interests that include samba, funk, soul, blues, bossa, jazz and Spanish flamenco, Beleza Brasil is sure to be an exciting addition this year. Add in carefully-selected artisans and food crafters, a house tour with knowledgeable guides, cows mooing in the pasture, a souvenir wine glass for tasting and the day is set. The Festival is held rain or shine, with cover at the Hilltop Pavilion and in tents from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
