Robinson Family Vineyards
|
|
After retiring from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1967, our Grandfather Norman (Bud) Robinson and wife Helen (Dinky) Robinson purchased 78 acres in the Napa Valley. An idea of vineyards was planted by friends and neighbors Nathan Fay and Father Tom Turnbull and that was all it took to get our grandparents inspired. They gave up horses and cattle, planted vineyards and joined the Home Winemaker's Association. After Grandpa's passing in 1998 the family has dedicated themselves to continuing the tradition he started and his passion for wine. Norman and Helen's daughter Susie Robinson Jinks and son-in-law Tom Jinks run all the day to day operations. Granddaughters Carrie, Kim and Robin also help with the family business with their respective husbands Joe, JD, and Zack close by their side. The family has grown tremendously in the past few years, which greatly benefits the picking during the harvest season. We define what it truly means to be an "actual family owned and operated" winery. Having such a close knit family is an advantage to having more "helping hands" within the family business. With six great grandsons and one great granddaughter, life is filled with lots of excitement, chaos, and laughs. Come sit with us, hear our story, drink some wine and enjoy a truly exceptional experience!

Cabernet Sauvignon Stag's Leap Vineyard
Loads of blackberry, cherry and cassis mixed with sage and mineral notes, predominate the nose. In the mouth this wine shows power and intensity with a strong backbone of tannins and acid framed with juicy blackberry and currant fruit flavors. The finish is supple and lingers on and on. An excellent selection from this Stag's Leap Vineyard.

Merlot Stag's Leap Vineyard
This wine is rich and mouth watering with great intensity and
volume. Initial fruit flavors of blackberry, cherry, and plum
mingle nicely with vanilla and sweet oak tones. The finish
is long and supple showing enough structure to let you know
this wine will drink well now or age nicely over the next few
years. This wine showcases its Stags Leap heritage very nicely.
