Valiant Vineyards Winery

Valiant Vineyards Winery Valiant Vineyards Winery began over a decade ago when Eldon and Sherry Nygaard set out to establish the first winery in South Dakota. In 1993, they planted a small vineyard on land over-looking Turkey Ridge Creek in Turner County, South Dakota. Pioneer settlers who homesteaded the land in the 1880s named the creek. Eldon's ancestors had farmed the land for more than a century. The bold heritage and pioneering spirit of those early Americans is again found in the wines bottled by Valiant Vineyards. At the time the Nygaard's wanted to establish a winery, there was no enabling legislation, so they authored a farm winery bill and caused it to be introduced in the South Dakota Legislature in 1996. The bill was passed and signed into law in July of 1996 and Valiant Vineyards became Farm Winery No. 1. Valiant wines are crafted in the passionate tradition of old-world winemakers. Using the finest South Dakota fruits and grapes, Eldon creates premium wine through classic winemaking techniques including malactic fermentation, barrel aging, and cellaring to bring forth the natural character of the fruit. Valiant Vineyards' "Wild Grape" wine has become world famous in that it is sold in the finest wine shop in Paris, France and is on the wine list of Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group, Inc. Wild Grape has been written up in the Wine Spectator, Time Magazine, New York Times Newspaper and USA Today. Wild Grape is made from Vitis Riparia native to South Dakota and handpicked on the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation and other untouched natural areas. Our signature wine Wild Grape is truly organic and makes a unique big red wine.

Was at the winery today. Owner jumped all over the help in front of the customers what an ass hole. Then he expects customers to buy stuff there. Besides his wine sucks
